Yvonand village, a water sporting paradise, lies in the vicinity of Laussane. In Yvonand beach, wind Surfing is being practiced with big success, due to the perfect conditions of the spot. The beach is at a short distance from the city, at about 5 minutes from the center. You will meet no difficulty in locating the beach which is public accessed.
The optimum wind direction comes from the northeast and blows with a velocity of 16 – 25 knots/18.4-28.8 mph. Venturi wind is perfect for the spot, allowing surfers to perform many styles of wind surfing such as freestyle, free-ride, bump and jump. Side – onshore is the best relative wind direction. It is suggested to check daily the weather beforehand because it is not windy every day.
The clean water, the lack of currents, the sandy with rocks bottom and the no tide dependency are the main assets of the spot. Best season to wind surf in Yvonand Lake is from August to October. It is a very popular beach so it can get very crowded every day.
