The first race of the season for City Mountain Bike is gradually getting closer! This year it starts from Apeldoorn in The Netherlands on April 3rd. City Mountain Bike and Stichthing Streetrace Apeldoorn have signed an agreement which guarantees the organization of the race until 2018!
City Mountain Bike will be a side event for this year’s Giro d’Italia in an effort to gather more attention on cycling in general and more specifically to promote their race. As a result, Apeldoorn will be the center of interest for cyclists from across a variety of cycling disciplines.
The Apeldoorn City Mountain Bike event will take place in the market square of Apeldoorn, Marketplein. Registrations for athletes have already begun with some very approachable registration fees (kids race for free, Citizen Street Race (amateurs’ race) at 20€ each, XCE Men, XCE Women and Short Track XCC at 15€ each), whereas entry for the spectators is free! A VIP ticket is also available, at the price of 65€, for the ones who wish to enjoy a ride on their own or with their friends at the City Mountain Bike VIP square, created exclusively for this purpose! For more info, click here.
This is the first time that the City Mountain Bike includes a UCI competition for women too. The organizers of the Cross Country Eliminator (XCE) races are trying to add more events to the Women XCE calendar, in an effort to promote women’s cycling.
