A second consecutive stop in Portugal, this time in the country’s capital Lisbon is preparing to have all lights on it for the 7th Act of the Extreme Sailing Series 2016.
In spite of its location just off the Atlantic Ocea, Lisbon with its warm Mediterranean climate is the perfect location to host the event.
Race Village opens on the 6th of October and people can watch the event just off the water bank of the River Tagus (Rio Tejo). As always, the on-water action is expected to be spectacular with the fleet of hydro-foiling GC32s continuing their debut on Portuguese waters straight after Madeira Island.
Lisbon offers a perfect mix of tradition and modern culture. The beautiful city centre, very close to the River Tagus, combines traditional architecture with a fresh scent of contemporary culture. The beautiful beaches of the city are the perfect place to soak in some sun when you’re not busy watching the exciting racing.
If you can’t make it to Lisbon, the Extreme Sailing Series™ website ‘LIVE’ page will be broadcasting live video, as always. Live streaming of the SAP Sailing Analytics and dynamic leaderboards is also available from the same site.
Follow the event’s twitter handle @extremesailing to catch up with all the on-water actions as it happens. Use the #extremesailing hashtag to comment etc.
See you there!
