Taking place on February 17 th to 19 th, the Ganga Kayak Festival is open to all kayakers Pros, intermediate, juniors and women. With 5 events to choose from, everyone can compete. The five events are: Sprint, Giant Slalom, Boater Cross, Mass Boater Cross and the Rafting Championship.
The event is organized on an annual basis on the Ganga River near Rishikesh in February/March and it’s gathering athletes from the local kayaking community, as well as from the international kayaking circles. The kayakers are gathered for a fun-filled competition among people who share the same love for the sport and also to show off their skills on Ganga’s white waters.
Rishikesh is a beautiful place, considered to be the Yoga Capital of the World and the Gateway of the Garhwal Himalaya. You can get there by air: The Jolly Grant airport in Dehradun is the closest to Rishikesh at approximately 35km/21.74mi away. Being such a popular tourist destination, Rishikesh is easily reached by bus as well from all major towns, like Haridwar, Dehradun and New Delhi.
