Icicle Creek Lauch is located right outside Leavenworth Town, at twenty five minutes away from Wenatchee. In order to reach the take off area, you must hike up the Icicle Ridge Trail for about an hour and once you are at the top of the ridge, descent a bit to get to the launch spot. Icicle Creek is a great location for breathtaking flights and XC mountain flights with good lifting winds.
During spring, summer and fall seasons, there are good thermal winds that can help para-gliders to maintain increased altitude. The launch site faces east, southeast, with just s few trees nearby. The view from Icicle Creek is breathtaking. You fly over dense nature, mountains, creeks and you can see Leavenworth’s beautiful town and the river from above. If you are a beginner you can book a tandem flight, with an experienced pilot, or start taking lessons.
