Colima is a city and also the name of a Mexican state. Colima is located in the western Mexico. The state's main cities include Manzanillo and Tecoman. The truth is that Manzanillo is the most popular tourism destination, as many water sports are being performed on the spot. Nevertheless, paragliding is also a famous extreme sport, being practiced at Colima.

The flying site of La Cumbre is situated at about 10 minutes away, by car, from the city of Colima. It’s one of the most popular fly sites in the surrounding area because of its close access. Paragliding schools organise groups almost everyday since the demand is high. Despite of the close access, there are many reasons that make La Cumbre a great paragliding spot.

First of all, the school assume your transfer from Colima to the flying site. The ideal time for taking-off varies between 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., depending on the weather conditions and of course the seasonal changes. With a vertical drop that reaches at 365.76 m/1200 ft, the spot of La Cumbre offers mostly thermal and rarely soaring conditions. In good days, you may achieve an altitude of over 3048 m/10000 ft high. On normal days, the altitude fluctuates between 914.4 m/3000 ft and 1828.8 m/6000 ft. Finally, we should highlight that previous experience in paragliding is not necessary. There’s no stupid question as for your safety.
