Mona Vale is a suburb in northern Sydney, at about 28 km/17 mi in the north of Sydney's CBD (Central Business District). Mona Vale beach streches at about 1 km/1093.6 yd in between the broad rock platform that divides it from the Basin on the north side and the Warriewood beach, on the south side. This spot provides you with good facilities and a picnic area.
North of Mona Vale beach, just above the coastal cliff, is a small grassed area which is very popular with para-glider pilots. If the instinct for adventure sports runs in your blood, then you should visit this place. Use the lower grassed area and take off from the edge.
Admire the stunning views of the beach and the surrounding area while you are floating through the air. The landing is on the beach, which sometimes has a steep cliff. Do not fly when the wind is from the west of south. This site is appropriate only for intermediate and advanced para-gliders.
Note: the lower airspace level is at 2500 ft/762 m. The GPS coordinates for the take off are 33.6745:S, 151.3191:E. Height: 100 ft/30 m AMSL. The paragliding association is at your disposal.
