Outer Banks, also known as OBX, is a 200 mi/320 km long string of narrow barrier islands off the coast of North Carolina. A small portion of it extends further in Virginia, at the beginning of the southern corner of Virginia Beach, on the eastern coast of the United States. It is a major tourist destination and known for its temperate climate.

Dare County Regional Airport is the center of skydiving activities. It is a small airport owned by the County of Dare and offers easy access to its visitors. You are kindly requested to arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled jump time, in order to have a brief demonstration of what you will experience. Once you arrive at 9000 ft (2742 m) height with the secure airplane, get ready to feel the absolute freedom of free falling, while reaching a speed of 120 mph/193 kph. You will experience an about 30 second free fall, before your parachute opens and you will land safely in an open area close to the airport. There is also a viewing area by the landing field, where your friends can admire you or take some extreme photos.
Due to its geographical location, OBX has unusual weather. It tends to be affected by hurricanes and storms. Good wind direction is from southeast.
