North West is a province in the northern part of South Africa, on the Botswana border and fringed by Kalahari desert to the west, Gauteng province to the east and Free State to the South. Home to the Sun City, it attracts both locals and tourists all year round and has a great deal to offer. De Wilt 4×4 trail is situated on the northern slopes of Magaliesberg, among Pretoria north, Hartebeespoort and Brits. The Game Park is especially designed for 4×4 enthusiasts and offers amazing game viewing as well as a rugged mountainous terrain. This is a circular route with three optional routes, plus there are escape routes at hard sections and obstacles.
Graded between 2-4, it covers a distance of 14 km/9 mi long and lasts between 2-3 hours. Its a self guided route which is open all year round, however after the rains, it can get slippery. The terrain is mostly loose rocks, sand, mud and water crossings, rock slabs and steps.
