El Ejido offers a Mediterranean climate, with mild winters (12°C/53.60°F) and hot summers (28°C/82.40°F). Rainfall is low with wettest months being December and January. El Ejido with its mountain trails and long beaches is the right spot for four wheel driving, meeting point for 4×4 drivers, with many 4×4 exhibits being organized in the area.
Nice off-road trail is from El Ejido center to Almerimar, following A-389 and AL9006. If you want an easy off-road experience, try the mountain trail beginning from Cueva del Algarrobo just outside El Ejido to Felix passing by Barriada Carcauz. Other places to visit: Tarambana has nice off-road trails, and for the experienced ones try Balerma beach with its rocky ground trails on paths full of enormous rocks.
