Without doubt, Cape Town is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, boasting striking mountains, a long stretch of the Atlantic Ocean coastline and an intriguing working harbour. Located at the shores of Table Bay in the Western Cape province of South Africa, it enjoys an ocean Mediterranean climate with mild moderately wet winters and dry warm summers.

At the foot of the Helderberg Mountain, there is a 12 km/7 mi circular route which offers an amazing 4×4 adventure.

The route is an easy one with some tricky and technical detours. Graded between 3-4, it lasts between 1-2 hours with a terrain consisting of mud, gravel, sand and clay with steep ascents and water crossings. Although it is not a trail that will send shivers through your body, it still has some tricky obstacles and magnificent scenic beauty to admire as you explore the tranquil mountain area.

The route is all year round destination however during wet seasons some of the challenging options are closed and therefore not accessible. The trail is ear-marked with color codes and offers different grading variations. During winter the surfaces get extremely tricky due to the wet slippery surfaces.
