Mammoth Lakes is located near Mammoth Mountain, in California’s eastern Sierra about 100 mi/161 km south of Nevada State Line, 9 mi/14.5 km northwest of Mount Morrison, at an elevation of 7880 ft/2402 m, Mono County, California, USA.
Another way to discover California’s panorama is an off highway adventure in Mammoth Lakes with motocrosses. One of the things Mammoth is famous for, is being in the center of over 4000 mi/6437 km of dirt routes, strewn out throughout the largest Jefferey Pine forest in the world.
If weather permits it, the trails are open for street legal, red sticker and green sticker motorcycle. All trails are typed groomed, sandy, whooped, rocky etc. Trails are for all levels of ability. Vistas are tremendous, so don’t forget your camera!
Mammoth Lakes is centrally located in eastern Sierra and makes it a great jumping off point to many destinations like Death Valley National Park, Hawthorne NV, Bodie State Park, Fish Lake Valley NV, Owens Valley and White Mountains. Mammoth Motorcycle Club offers GPS and lots of routes.
