Hammond is situated on the eastern side of the state of Louisiana, USA. It is the largest city in Tangipahoa Parish and the principal city of the Hammond Micropolitan Statistical Area.
One of the sports that is extremely popular in Hammond and attracts a lot of dirt lovers is quad biking. The best place to ride in the mud near Hammond is Tower Trax ATV Park. It is a 2600 ac/10522 km² area, offering more than 40 mi/64.3 km of trails, mud bogs, open meadows and deep creek crossings.
Future plans include more mud pits and amenities, such as a swimming area, more parking, RV camping spots, wash racks, restrooms and camp showers. The park is situated inside a forest, so shade is plenty and welcome especially in hot summer days. The trails are elevated 200 to 250 ft/60.9 to 76.2 m and are marked, but not rated or maintained.
Loose dirt, sand, a few steep hills, many water crossings, small jumps, berms, sand/gravel pits, a few roads, and some intersections are some of the amazing characteristics that you will come across in this awesome park. You might meet some rider traffic, so be prepared. The area is mostly suitable for amateurs, some novices and a little experts, containing hazards that are marked.
In this park, you have the opportunity to ride your quad bike under the stars, as night riding is permitted with appointment only. Keep in mind that there is an opening schedule, so it is recommended to call before you haul. It is suggested to spend at least the entire day in this mud fest, riding your quad and getting dirty among other drivers!
