Berthoud Pass is located between Idaho Springs and Winter Park and is one of the closest areas in Denver for snowmobiling. It belongs to Boulder County and is just an hour away.
The top of the pass is at 11307 ft/3446 m and has access to a wide array of backcountry stashes. Copper Mountain is located 75 mi/120.7 km away from Denver and is a perfect snowmobile destination. There are many snowmobiles trips for you to choose.
Local operators offer tours that will make you live the ultimate snowmobile experience, with half day and full day excursions at the primary Camp Hale location. One of the most popular tours is the Top of the Rockies tours, which includes numerous miles of wide meadows and magnificent 360Ëš panoramic views of the surrounding mountain, Continental Divide included.
More trips are the one hour and two hour snowmobile tours on more than 50 mi/80.5 km of groomed trails, that are passing through River National Forest. The base location is at 8000 ft/2438 m outside of Vail and the trail’s wind to maximum elevation of 10500 ft/3200 m.
White Mountain is another wonderful location, where many popular snowmobile trips are planned, including the 3 hour High Adventure, the 2 hour High Adventure and the 2 hour Performance Tour.
All these trips require reservations, so if you want to ride a sled and throw yourself out in the frozen wind, you should better take care of this.
