Lucerne is the capital of the Canton of Lucerne and the district of Lucerne. The whole arena covers a huge area with countless trails and riding possibilities. One of the trails that is very popular among Mountain Bike Freeriders is 922 Choltal.
It is a challenging single track which is a round trip that covers the area Emmetten – Stockhuette – Choltal – Emmetten in a distance of 13.2 km /8.3 mi long and with an elevation difference of 724 m /2375 ft. The track can be reached with the cable car to the cabin floor.
Then the track starts on the well developed gravel road following the route 922 towards Schwalmisflanke, where a technically challenge descent into the romantic Choltal follows. The technical driving skills can be tested here for your heart and kidney conditions.
The Choltalbach offers challenging downhill after your break from the demanding ascent. It is recommended that you will bring food and have a picnic on the top and then continue the crazy downhill to Choltal. On the road, the path leads back to the Mietcenter.
