Apart from the fact that the city is a must for water sports as it provides easy access into endless sandy beaches with sparkling waters, Miami also hosts amazing recreational parks within the city, that offer a wide variety of fun activities.
Amelia Earhart is a huge park located very close to Miami’s downtown and includes five lakes, mountain bike trails, soccer fields, picnic spots, playgrounds and many more exciting activities. One of the main attractions is of the park are the very well maintained tracks for mountain biking.
With a network of about 8 mi/13 km long of trails, the park is home to one of South Florida’s top bike rides. Under the shade of tall trees, the single track trails provide the mountain bikers with a number of climbs and downhills. There are smooth sections as well as banked corners, allowing you to maintain high speed for maximum fun.
For the advanced riders, there is also a section that is far more difficult from the rest and has quite a few “BMX” jumps available. All the trails are maintained by volunteers and this is a good opportunity to get involved with the local mountain biking community and the bike clubs and be part of their daily adventures or races in the beautiful Amelia Earhart Park.
