Lowell Dracut Tyngsboro State Forest is a forest, which covers the district of three towns in Massachusetts; Lowell, Dracut and Tyngsborough.
It covers 1140 ac/4.61 km² of recreational tracks and trails, suitable for all ages and different kind of activities. Apart from the forest, there are several ponds and wetlands and all of these combined, create an attractive scenery for the lovers of nature and sports.
The New England Mountain Bike Association has worked hard to make this a fun place for all the bike riders. You should know that trails are not properly and officially marked so it would be good to bring a GPS with you, in order to avoid riding in circles. There are trail maps available though.
During your ride, you can find some rocks, perfect for practicing some jumps with your bike and other bumping trails. The roads and trails are suitable for beginners, but the location provides with some tricky spots for more advanced bikers. Motor vehicles are prohibited here with an exception of snowmobiles.
For the ones seeking some time off of the daily routine, it is a perfect destination especially in weekends with a number of accommodation and restaurants to choose from in Lowell.
