Nevis Range is a sports resort in the Highlands of Scotland, which is located on the southern slopes of Aonach Mor, at about 6 mi/10 km from Fort William. Its visitors get the opportunity to experience a wide range of activities and extreme sports that differ from season to season. Fort William is a major tourist center, that offers a great variety of hotels, restaurants, pubs and bars.
Nevis Range and the wider area of Lochaber hosts various mountain bike trails. Even the most inexperienced riders could find a suitable relaxing trail. As for the experts, there are two trails really worthwhile.
Firstly, the Nevis Range Downhill – grade ”orange” (previously graded as ”black”), which length is 2.82 km/1.12 mi, starts at 655 m/2148 ft of height and finishes at Nevis Range car park at 100 m/328 ft. This is where the official World Cup DH of the UK’s is hosted.
Secondly, the Nevis Red trail – grade as ”red XC’ is longer than 5.5 km/3.1 mi. It starts at 643 m/2109 ft height and it finishes at 100 m/328 ft with a vertical drop of 543 m/1781 ft. A gondola uplift is suitable for the bikers of both trails. Nevis range also provides many facilities like school, bike hiring, restaurant, bar.
