The Elephant coast is located at the eastern seaboard of South Africa. It stretches along the Indian Ocean in the east, it borders with Mozambique in the north while the south-west lies on the Zululand. Extending inland across the Lubombo mountains and the famous Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve, which is the oldest in Africa and home to the big 5.

The Elephant coast is an extraordinary untamed area, promising an unforgettable adventure with amazing scenic beauty and unique experiences. Mountain Biking at Elephant Coast is conducted on the St. Lucia trails. The spot has various options ranging from 15- 25 km / 9-15 mi, lasting between 1-3 hours.

Classified as easy to intermediate, biking here is an all year round activity with summers being hot and humid. General terrain consists of sand tracks, tarmac and gravel roads. It is open to children as well as beginners and it is advisable to always ride in groups for safety reasons.
