Steni is a mountainous village, situated on the foothills of Dirfis Mountain, stands at 1745 m/5725 ft high. Once you enter the village, you will be overwhelmed by the smell of the fresh mountain air and the sounds of the running water. The trail starts from within the village and takes you at the foot of the mountain. It starts off with a steep decline and finishes with a fun and exciting alpine decent, through rivers and dense forest. As you bike along the trail, you can admire breathtaking views of the cone shaped mountain and the great Dirfis forest, dominated by pine trees, oak and chestnuts.
The length of the trail is 27 km/16.7 mi long and it takes about seven hours to cover its length. It is suitable for bikers of all skill levels, however, a good physical condition is important. The beast season for this ride extends from early spring to late fall, when you can enjoy the blooming nature and the warm Mediterranean climate.
