Chicago is the seat of Cook County, Illinois, USA. It is the third most populous city in the US and the most populous city in both the American Midwest and Illinois. Nicknamed as The Second City or Windy City, Chicago is situated on the southeastern shores of Lake Michigan, in the northeastern Illinois.
Can you imagine riding your favorite mountain bike on dirt tracks in the middle of Chicago? It is possible in The Garden, an amazing dirt jumping park. The Garden Chicago Dirt Jumps is the ultimate dirt track for those you want to see things from the top of the hill on their mountain bikes.
The park is an amazing destination and has great amenities, such as thrilling bike events, restrooms, picnic tables and free parking, challenging you to spend even the entire day here! Features can only be described as awesome. A pump track with multiple routes and 3 jump lines will make you dizzy, not knowing where to go first.
All levels are welcome, but for novices and others too, the best place to practice your jumps is the pump track. It consists of a pump section, six tabletop jumps, a step up and berms to keep them all together.
The medium line is for intermediate riders and has tables for the first two hits. Your epic jumping session starts at the start box, then you pump the roller before two tables, pass a berm on the right, then a double roller, step up to 180 berm, step up and two more doubles later you are done!
The main line comes next and is the most popular, as it exists longer than the others and has the most jumps. The route is almost the same as the medium line. You begin with the first double and then head right for two more doubles, hip to 180 berm right, step up and after two more doubles you are done. Due to the ideal location of the line in the middle of other lines and the fact that it is super boosty, it is the best choice for photo opportunities and spectators.
Last but not least, the expert line is the biggest and newest in The Garden and is still under renovation. The procedure is pretty much the same, only the features are kind of harder. You begin at the start box and hit the 2 set-up jumps. Then hip left off the first double, hit the double/step up and continue another double to 180 berm left and two more doubles in the end.
The park is amazing and the fun of MTB Dirt Jumping is guaranteed!!!
