Wenatchee is the largest city of Chelan County, located in North Central Washington and lies on the west side of the Columbia River. The city is also known as the Apple Capital of the world, due to the valley's many apple cultivations.
Esmeralda Peaks is a twin summit mountain, located at the eastern of Hawkings Mountain. The top elevation of the peak is at 6765 ft/2061 m high, suitable for climbing from June to October. In order to approach the summit, follow the De Roux Creek Trail through the valley among Esmeralda peak and Koppean mountain, until you reach a field leading you to the summit.
The mountain offers a moderate scramble climbing from the South side, suitable for all skill level climbers with a good physical condition. Once you reach the top, make sure to visit both summits with the Eastern one, having the best view. Esmeralda Peaks are a popular destination for mountain climbers and hikers, with great sunny weather during summer. If you visit the mountain in early season, take an ice axe and crampons with you.
