The Shivapuri Park represents a great destination for climbers due to its crack limestone origin of its cliffs and the many climbing routes.

The Nagarjun National Park is a great spot for medium skills climbers. It offers many climbing routes, approximately 20, with a wide range of difficulty from 4a to 6c grade. The Park is under managed by the Nepalese army authorities and instructions are strictly followed.

Although the Park remains open till  5pm, the entrance is allowed only till 2pm. Especiall climbing permission is required for climbing in Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park and you can easily get it at the entrance office paying a fee of 250 Nepali rupees as a foreigner.

This trhrilling experience starts before meeting the cliff. Some 40 minutes earlier from the main entrance of the Park, the Phulbari gate, in the Balaju location, there is a hiking area with no particular difficulties.

The morphology of the region is shaped by the weather conditions, the climate zones and the routes created by the melting snow of the neighboring mountain glaciers of Shivapuri Peak at 2732 m/8963 ft but mostly by the many and intensive rainfalls. The area is the main water supplier of Kathmandu Valley.

Spectacular rock formations with rocky surface and sharp edges lie all over in the area.  Many and very professional training climbing centers operate in the zone. Don’t miss the opportunity to climb in Shivapuri Nararjun National Park!
