Wenatchee is the largest city of Chelan County, located in North Central Washington and lies on the west side of the Columbia River. The city is also known as the Apple Capital of the world, due to the valley's apple cultivations.
Mount Margaret Trail is located on the Central Cascade Mountain. The trail is 9 mi/14 km long (out and back), about six hours hike with an elevation gain of 2800 ft/853 m. The trail is open for snowshoeing from late December through late February and is suitable for practitioners of all skill levels and ages. By December, the snow is more than enough and the valley’s and mountain’s view is unbelievable.
Mt Margaret Trail is a great path to enjoy snowshoeing and practice your skills. You will walk through dark forests, alpine scenery, red tailed hawks and ravens and untouched snow if you visit the trail early enough. The path is safe from snowdrifts but always check the weather forecast before you choose this trail and don’t forget to take with you a map and a compass.
