Battle ROJal 2017
The second stop of this season’s QParks Tour came to end on the 7th of January, 2017, in Italy’s Snowpark Schöneben. The famous Battle ROJal 2017 will stay in our memory as one with a mighty kicker line, frosty temperatures and gnarly tricks! All Men, Women and Groms really gave it their all for the top spot in the battle for Schöneben.
Upon arrival, the “Axel” cyclone greeted the riders, the fans and the judges with freezing sub-zero temperatures. But cold weather wasn’t enough to stop the riders from shredding through the topnotch snowpark designed by Moritz Klammer and executed by his team.
Fresh talents from nine nations heard the call to compete in the Battle ROJal 2017. The contest line was kept in perfect condition by the organizers, so they had all the chances to show off their skills and prove their talents. However, due to increasingly growing stronger gusts of wind and in order to guarantee the rider’s health and prevent any injuries, the qualification runs had to count as finals.
Freeskiing results:
In the Men category, the Austrians stole the attention of the judges and the audience with Manuel Pleifer (AUT) winning first place and best trick of the day and Lukas Müllauer (AUT) coming in second. It was all about the Austrians in the Women category as well with Mona Falkner (AUT) coming in first place followed by Tamara Schmid (AUT) and Selina Jäger (AUT) in 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The younger Austrians were not joking either. Daniel Bacher (AUT) in first, followed by Felix Alber Strolz (AUT) and Manuel Sailer (AUT) were the winners in the Groms category.
Snowboarding results:
The snowboarders were shredding points for the QParks Tour, the WSPL Ranking of the World Snowboard Tour and the World Rookie Rank, as well as for plenty of goodies by AMPLIFI, Pinetime Clothing and QParks worth a total of 2.400€.
