There are a lot of people who are looking for an answer to their struggles with their weight. It can be extremely disheartening to some that they cannot seem to take off and keep off the weight. Some people will opt for bariatric surgery if they feel that they just cannot seem to keep the weight off any other way. 

There is nothing specifically wrong with this, but we also wanted to take a look at some alternatives for those who are eager to keep weight off and make some positive strides toward keeping that weight off for the long-term.

Today, we will look at some extreme summer sports that one can engage in so as to keep the weight off of themselves. Take some time to review all of the options here to see if there are some that may appeal to you.

Surfing

Are you planning to go to the beach for a vacation this summer? Plenty of people will do this as part of their summer vacation. If that is where you find yourself, then you may want to consider taking up surfing as an extreme sport that you can enjoy and lose some weight.

You can burn between 200 and 250 calories per hour that you are surfing. Your arms and legs are going to do a lot of paddling while you are out there, and this will help you continue to burn the calories while you are out on the water. Some people have discovered that this is exactly what is necessary for them to burn calories and take off some weight.

Cliff Diving

Not everyone is so keen on the idea of literally throwing themselves off of a cliff into a body of water, but there are others who embrace this extreme sport. If you can convince yourself to engage with something like this, you can burn a lot of calories while participating in something like this. 

The amazing thing is that you can burn up to 950 calories per hour that you spend climbing. A lot of people see that as one of the biggest upsides to getting involved with cliff diving in the first place, and it is hard to deny that it is one of the quickest ways to burn a lot of calories.

When you think about how you would like to take calories off of yourself, going cliff diving can be a great way to help speed up the process and make the process of burning weight a bit faster.

Underwater Hockey

That’s right, you can play a game that is typically played on ice underwater. You just need to put on some snorkeling gear and get to work figuring out how you want to set up your teams. 

Those who go regular snorkeling can burn between 300 and 400 calories per hour, and that’s just with the process of regular snorkeling. Now, you can add the element of playing hockey while you are underwater, and things get even more intense.

Hockey is a great way to keep your body in motion and burn a lot of calories. Couple it with the resistance that the water provides, and you will quickly see that underwater hockey is a great way for you to burn off some extra calories and put yourself in a place where you can start to lose the weight that you need to lose to feel better about yourself.

Rafting

There are a lot of people who go rafting in various bodies of water that they happen to live near. If that sounds appealing to you, don’t take for granted the fact that rafting can be an excellent way to burn calories while you are at it.

Many people are able to burn between 450 and 500 calories per hour that they are out on the water doing their rafting activities. That is significant, and it means that there are a lot of people who have decided to take up rafting as a pastime that they can engage with to help burn off some of the extra weight that they have been struggling to lose.

Snowboarding

If you live in a climate that is colder, you may find snowboarding to be the most natural way to get yourself out and about burning calories. 

There are plenty of people who have used snowboarding to help take some weight off, and many of those people say that they love the sport, and they love the fact that they can burn calories doing something as fun as snowboarding.

Think about all of the options that are open to you, and then decide which sports you might want to take on in order to enjoy the process of burning calories. It can help you stick with it in the long run.
