White Water Rafting on River Orchy is really challenging but also exciting. There are two options, either running all the route or performing only on the upper section. The best period is from November to March. River Orchy is the only place in the UK, where someone can find grade 5 in natural environment. However, one needs to wait until water levels are good enough. Heavy rainfall is a prerequisite so as for the spot to become raft-able.
In grade 5 conditions, River Orchy is proper only for the experienced practitioners. You will have to know how to face up with standing waves, stoppers and large drops. In fact, previous rafting on grade 3+ is needed. White Water Rafting is also strictly forbidden for groups under 18 years old.
Aviemore and Fort William are two towns, at about an hour and a half away from River Orchy, where you can find everything you need for unforgettable and full of adventure vacations.
